Media Training

We don't teach media training from a textbook. We teach it from the newsroom.

Our trainers are senior journalists who've spent decades on the other side of the microphone, interviewing everyone from FTSE 100 chief executives to Premier League footballers, Cabinet ministers to rock stars. We know what journalists are looking for, how they think, and how to make sure you come out of any interview having said exactly what you wanted to say.

We've delivered media training for many organisations, including LinkedIn, the British Olympic Association, Barclays and Marks and Spencer.

What we cover

Every course is tailored to your organisation, but our core modules include:

Owning the interview. Most people go into media interviews hoping to survive. We teach you to go in with a plan. You'll learn how to prepare three clear messages and steer any conversation back to them, whether you're on camera, on the phone, or facing a hostile line of questioning.

Thinking like a journalist. The best media performers don't just answer questions; they understand what makes a story. We show you how to spot the stories within your organisation that journalists will actually want to cover, and how to present them in a way that gets you noticed.

Practical interview sessions. Every course includes live practice interviews, on camera, by phone, and in person, with detailed feedback from journalists who know exactly what works and what doesn't.

Crisis and reputation. How to handle difficult questions, stay calm under pressure, and protect your brand when the story isn't going your way.

Attracting coverage. Beyond defensive media skills, we help you develop a proactive media strategy: finding stories, building relationships with journalists, and turning media attention into brand value.

How we deliver it

We offer half-day and full-day formats, in person or virtually, for groups or individuals. Every course is built around your sector, your risks, and your goals. We don't do off-the-shelf.
